Uses of Botox in Dentistry

Adverse Effects and Contraindications
There can be several consequences upon receiving Botox treatment near you, and as with any medical intervention, these must be considered and weighed against the potential benefits. Overall, it is considered to have a favorable safety review. However, here are some potential side effects to keep in mind before making a decision:
- Hypersensitivity to a Botox preparation.
- Infection at an injection site.
- Allergic reactions with rash, itching and headaches.
- Neck or back pain or muscle soreness.
- Stomach pain, diarrhea or loss of appetite.
- Sore throat, runny nose, and/or ringing in ears.
- Increased sweating in an area aside from the armpits.
- The most common effects, dependent on dose, are salivation changes and facial, speech and swallowing muscle weakness.
